Gabapentin doses and adverse effects Low dose is defined as 900 mg, moderate dose as 900–1799 mg and high dose as 1800 mg.
My doctors said try to go to 1800 mg/day on the Gabapentin and mg on the Nortriptyline. They say that those are still not very high doses.
In the dose-response analysis, exposure to moderate (900 to 1799 mg/d) or high ( 1800 mg/d) doses of gabapentin was associated with a nearly
The ceiling dose of gabapentin is 1800 mg/day because it has been established that a dose greater than 1800 mg/day does not generally provide greater benefit; the bioavailability of gabapentin varies inversely with dose, and high-dose regimens are associated with lower patient compliance . Gabapentin is compared with placebo treatment because
Gabapentin is safely tolerated in doses ranging from 800 – 1800 mg per day; however, patients may be treated with doses as high as 3600 mg per day.

Gabapentin 1800 mg/day used during first 2 days of hospital admission significantly lowered total dose of benzodiazepines. Gabapentin appears to be more beneficial for mild rather than severe alcohol withdrawal. High dose Gabapentin (1800 mg/day) is also associated with decrease in percentage of heavy drinking days.
These studies suggest the maximum dose of gabapentin can be as high as 1800 mg per day, depending on the condition being treated.

Not much good news. Went to my neuropathist on Wednesday for a series of tests. 'Yes', I have nerve damage and 'no', the doctor looking at the results couldn't understand why. Essentially, they ran an escalating electric current from various spots on my lower leg and foot to toes to see how I responded. I highly recommend this as a means of torture.
On the downside, I am becoming resistant to my pain medication, so life sucks coming and going. My psychiatrist upped my Gabapentin from 300 Mg to 400 Mg [3x a day] and it isn't helping. Woot? I'd kill for a decent night's sleep.
Thank you for asking. I really wish I had better news.
